ASB Getwise!

Room 11 just had a visit from Superhero Serena from ASB who came to talk to us about being wise with our money. We learnt about wants and needs. You should always speed towards your needs and wait for your wants! We also learnt about all the New Zealand coins and notes....we can even put them in order from smallest value to the biggest value! We  think we will be pretty good savers with our 3 jars - save, spend and share. Are you good at saving?

    Wow Room 11 you look like you guys would be really good at saving money! I'm sure when you leave college you will be able to afford a nice - looking car!

    Hi Chantelle, we really loved your post, it was very interesting! When Superhero Serena came to Prarthna's class room- room 15, she showed us how to save money. She told us a story: There were 3 people who went to 3 different shops. One of them went to a shop and spent all of their money. The next person spent half of their money. The last person spent a quarter of their money. The lesson was to spend some money on you and to save some money.

      Hi Prarthna and Karina,

      Superhero Serena taught us about putting our money into 3 containers - one for spending, one for sharing and one for saving. Is that what she taught you?

    Wow Room 11, you all must have learnt a lot about banks and money from Serena. What was the most interesting thing you learnt?

      Hi Michelle, the most interesting thing we learnt was about our wants and needs (things you actually need compared to things that you want). We learnt that sometimes you need to think about what you are spending your money on....you have to think to yourself...do you really need it? Or is it a want?
