Athletics Time!! On your marks.....get set....Go!

It's nearly Athletics day time so Room 11 and Room 13 went out to have a go on the tracks. We practiced "On your marks" (feet together) "Get set" (leg back ready to run) and "Go" Run! We had lots of fun. Miss Ramsay and Mrs Burge were really impressed with the children who tripped and got back up to try again! 

Library Roadshow

Yesterday at Sunnyhills we had a visit from the people at Pakuranga Library. They told us all about what you can get out of the library using your library card. Did you know there are over 55 libraries in Auckland! Who knew you could get video games out too! Even some of their books have Virtual Reality! We can't wait to head to the library in the holidays to check out all the wonderful things to do.

ASB Getwise!

Room 11 just had a visit from Superhero Serena from ASB who came to talk to us about being wise with our money. We learnt about wants and needs. You should always speed towards your needs and wait for your wants! We also learnt about all the New Zealand coins and notes....we can even put them in order from smallest value to the biggest value! We  think we will be pretty good savers with our 3 jars - save, spend and share. Are you good at saving? 

Making fudge!!!!

Room 11 read a poem this week all about Fudge! Some children in Room 11 didn't know what fudge was!! So Miss Ramsay decided to make some fudge....But we couldn't have done it without help from our buddy class, Room 1 and Mrs Poole ...thanks for the help!

Fractions

Room 11 has been learning about Fractions this week. We have been making equal pieces using playdough and chocolate. We've been talking about halves, quarters and thirds.
