What makes Ice melt faster?

Today Room 11 did an ice experiment to see what caused ice to melt the fastest. We used hot water, vinegar, baking soda, sugar and salt. What do you think melted the fastest? The ice that Miss Ramsay poured hot water over melted the fastest and then the one with vinegar. The salt and the sugar stuck to the ice and melted it a little bit but it was a lot slower. The baking soda seemed to slow down the melting of the ice and it only melted a tiny bit. Have a look at the photos below or come and ask us about it - Room 11

Room 11 have been learning all about toys this term! We designed a toy we could make using items we had at home. Have a look at the building process below....thank you Room 1 (our buddies) and Mrs Poole for coming to help us!!!

Our Fun Motat Trip!

Tinker Time!!

This week Room 11 had the Circuits to use. We got really excited when we had successfully set up a circuit. We worked really well with each other and supported each other in trying new things. Have a look at the photos below!

Recount Writing - Our Awesome Museum Trip - By Ruby

Recount Writing - Room 11 have learning how to write a recount. We worked really hard to make sure we included a title, orientation, sequence of events and a personal comment. We needed to use time connectives like first, then and next. See if you can find the ones Ruby used. We also tried hard to make it interesting. 

Our Awesome Museum Trip!

On Tuesday Room 11 and Room 24 went to the museum to learn about insects. In my team there was my mum, Ethan and Danielle. First of all we had our yummy morning tea. Next we got to have a look around the museum. We saw a huge shark and I saw a penguin! We had a photo with Miss Ramsay's group. My favourite thing was looking at all the clothes. Then it was lunch time. Lunch was delicious. Finally it was our turn to go to the weird and wonderful to learn about insects. I learnt about a dung beetle and how they put poo underground. I looked in the microscope too. I want to go there again.
